Film magazine problems
After experiencing problems trying to correct the picture (Above) and increase the quality, I have decided to instead take a different photo, this time of Sarah (the modern girl) holding the letter which reveals what happened in the past and in turn allows her to reflect on what happened, or, have her face at the image, looked shocked with perhaps the letter reflected in her eyes. I will attempt to re-create this --->

Soundtrack
We have researched music for the soundtrack and have decided to try and re create something that sounds similar to Gymnopedie's 1,2 and 3 by Erik Satie as they are simple yet emotional piano pieces.

Film name
We have decided to change the film name to 'The Letters'.
I had a survey but unfortunately some of the people I asked to respond wrote inappropriate comments and I am unable to display the results of the survey here.
The name 'The Letters' was the most popular and '1877' came second.

New storyline
We have edited the storyline:
A girl in the 21st century decides to research her ancestors, and finds out about the life of her great great grandmother, who lived in a stately home and was a woman of nobility (close-up of ancestry website)
She reads a newspaper cutting with a headline explaining that a Lord has been killed in an "accidental fire" which also damaged the stately home where he was staying (her great great grandmother's house)
She then reads a contemporary newspaper cutting, with a headline explaining that the house has been restored to its original state with government funds
She goes to the house and finds letters that were previously undiscovered, and are between her great great grandmother and two different men, one a poor butler and one a Lord (who was killed in the
Through these letters she discovers the dark romance she had with each of these men, which resulted in a turbulent love triangle between the three of them, born of jealous and bitterness. Such a thing would be scandalous beyond belief in the 19th century.
She also discovers a dark secret that her great great grandmother kept to the grave: the jealousy and confrontation between the men, as well as their attempts to hide their own secret love, cause the butler to burn down the lady of nobility's stately home, in which the rich man is residing; this has always been believed to be an accident until the discovery of the letters.
The lady of nobility is however, manages to escape the fire, and runs away with the butler, throwing away her title and creating an uproar of scandal.
The 21st century girl is shocked and upset to discover these dark family secrets, and the fact that her great great grandfather is a murderer.

Film poster and magazine pictures.
For my ancillary tasks, I have decided on making a film poster and the cover of a film magazine.
I have been researching the conventions of posters and magazines and decided out of the pictures I took on the days we filmed, to use this picture for my poster:
And this picture for my magazine cover:
Although the pictures are slightly pixelated,I intend to use a sepia effect for the poster picture to make it look like an old photograph and for the magazine picture I intend to try and clean up.

Filming
On Tuesday 25th and Thursday 27th we filmed our coursework. On Tuesday we filmed at Aske Hall. Though the weather was slightly overcast, it didn't rain and was light enough for us to film properly outside.
On Thursday, though it rained this was fine as we filmed everything inside
at Kiplin Hall.
Because we needed to film one scene at night, we filmed it after college, about 5:30pm on Tuesday 8th November. This also went well, we had no problems with lighting due to street lamps. However, we have decided against using this footage.
