Hair and makeup photo's

I was in charge of hair whilst Emily did makeup.
I brushed Jon's hair (playing the role of the rich man) so that it was smooth. With Frances' hair, I tied it into a plaited bun with strands at either side of her face. I added ribbons and/or flowers for the everyday scenes and feathers and a jeweled hairband for the ballroom scene. I was very pleased with the overall effect, I felt it looked authentic despite Frances not having ringlets as was fashionable at the time.

Victorian Hair styles research

Websites used for research:
http://kerryg.hubpages.com/hub/A-Simple-Victorian-Hairstyle
http://www.erasofelegance.com/fashion/hairstyles.html
http://www.ehow.com/info_8157131_do-do-victorian-hairstyles.html
http://www.ehow.com/info_8257191_victorian-mens-hairstyles.html
From this research I decided to practise some hairstyles out on myself. As I have naturally curly hair I was able recreate them easily, however Frances has naturally straight hair, so attempting to curl her hair would be difficult.
The first image is an elaborate style with a diamond hair piece, which I will probably use on the days of filming, alongside ribbons, flowers and feathers. The second image is of a much simpler style which I will use as well.

Further changes

After changing our storyboard so that our film is about someone reflecting on the past, we have decided not to use an elderly lady looking at a diary, we have decided to have instead a teenage girl going to her great-great grandmother's stately home and finding a letter and thus reflecting on the events surrounding the letter.
The actor playing the modern girl is Sarah Brewitt, an a-level drama student.

Location problem

Our preferred location- Treasurer's House has eailed us to tell us that we are not allowed to film due to the site being so busy due to the house being a tourist attraction.
So, to broaden our chances of getting a location in time, we have also decided to email Aske Hall (Near Richmond) for the opportunity to use their property as a location.

4 most likely locations

• Beningbrough Hall and Gardens (York)
• Castle Howard (York)
• Treasurer’s House (York)
• Nunnington Hall (Nunnington near York)
We have emailed all 4 asking for permission to film there just in case any one says no.We are adamant on filming particularly at Treasurer's House

because we feel that it looks the most authentic and has lots of props and things already there.

Changes

Due to some difficulties in composing a believable storyline, we have had to make some changes to the story and add some new scenes.
We have decided to show a very old woman in an attic who finds a diary. The camera shows a close up of the date '5th May 1877' then our origninal scenes are shown.

New begining to story:
